A brilliant, stoic performance from S & A under 8's Blue today away at Ormskirk, taking on some seriously testing weather conditions.
High wind, driving rain that felt like sleet, made it a real battle – even the parents were taking shelter in their cars!
The lads from both teams were outstanding though and just got on with it.
But our boys showed proper resilience, teamwork and attitude from start to finish. It was a really tight game with loads of chances – the amount of times we hit the woodwork was unbelievable.
Special mention to Harvey for two excellent goals, driving straight through their defence with real determination
The S & A 'Player of the match' went to Reggie, who stepped up in goal in the second half – pulling off some top saves including a penalty stop
A proper team performance today – the kind that shows what this group is all about, shame we didn’t get a photo, it would’ve looked more like Tough Mudder than a football match!
We can’t wait to be back on home turf after the break
