S & A Under 8's Blues travelled away to Ormskirk West End on Sunday morning, and the pitch was a world away from our usual home turf.
The ball could barely bounce and we somehow managed to hit the crossbar more times than seems possible.
Despite the tricky ground and the sun beaming low across the field, the boys dug in and played some lovely football. Harvey was unlucky not to convert a penalty and created some great chances, with goals coming from Joseph and Reggie. Joey pulled off some brilliant saves as well — he’s developing into a real shot-stopper week by week.
By the final whistle every pair of boots was caked in mud, but the boys came off smiling — exactly what youth football should be about.
A big well done to Arthur, who picked up our S & A Parents’ Player of the Month' for November and 'Player of the Match' for his excellent reading of the game. A brilliant double celebration for him
On to the next one — and we can’t wait to be back on home ground next week!
