Saturday Senior Reserves

Good start for our Saturday Senior Reserves tonight away at Appley Bridge FC 1st team. Having a number of players unavailable due to work commitments S & A struggled in the first 15 mins conceding two early goals after unforced errors led to the home team taking a deserved two goal league. S & A kept their composure and continued to play some good football continuing in the same shape. S & A created 3 or 4 easy chances but simply couldn’t convert. Adam Haines with a couple Sean Doran, Peter Moretti and Tom Wright all going close. Haines scored from close range from a corner to take the visitors in at half time with a hope of getting back into the game.

S & A dominated the second half with Tom Wright 2 and a Sean Doran worldie giving them a deserved win. Wright was playing in his new role on the right in more of an attacking role and he proved the managers faith in him with two well taken goals. Josh Oldfield in the S & A goal takes credit with an inspired performance that kept the home team at bay from any of their attacks. A good start for S & A against a strong Appley Bridge side. Well done to all the players. MOTM : Jamie McCormack who won everything in the air and was composed when under any pressure.
