It's a 'FOUR' gone conclusion for Moretti
S & A Saturday Reserves made the long trip to Broughton Amateurs 1st team today without seven of the squad that beat Appley Bridge in midweek. It was a bitter blow for the away team who somehow put eleven players on the pitch with Brad Davenport being the only option from the bench.
The game was dominated by a pitch length strong wind which for the first half S & A had the advantage of the wind. They went close three times in the opening 20 minutes with Peter Moretti, Tom Wright and Dan Thompson all going close. The visitors gave a few silly free kicks away on the edge of their own box and from one of these Broughton took the lead with a direct shot that somehow squeezed itself through the wall.

In the second half S & A stuck to their shape and started to take control of the game with some excellent football passing between the lines especially against the wind. Antonio Berisha and Luca Intonazzo being instrumental as they started to take control.
On 51mins all of S & A’s hard work became worthless when Jamie McCormack scored a very unfortunate own goal. S & A immediately reduced the lead on 54mins when Moretti scored from close range. S & A actually scored again on 57mins when a snap shot hit the stanchion inside the goal and came out again. As S & A celebrated the referee said ‘carry on’ playing because he didn’t see the ball hit the angled bar at the side of the goal.
On 62mins Moretti scored again to get the visitors back on level terms after Olly Morton’s shot was saved by the keeper. Stephen Green and Tom Wright where starting to work better down the right hand side and it was from this that Moretti scored his hat- trick beating the keeper from close range (68mins). S & A had Harmen Von Arrogan to thank for some timely interceptions as Broughton pressed.
Antonio Berisha helped put the game to bed when he slotted Moretti in for his FOURTH goal of the game with a slick finish (73mins).
Olly Morton who had an excellent game in a more advanced role scored a fifth on 78mins and to top it all off full back turned striker Tom Wright scored a sixth for S & A on 82mins.
A great win for the Reserves today and credit to the team for not giving up after going two down.
