Dominate display from Sam Howell as his hat-trick seals fine all round team display
Under 11's reds started off on the right foot at home to Southport FC Yellows when they scored after just mins. Centre Midfielder Taylor Wareing put winger Connor Edgar in down the right and from an acute angle he squeezed his shot home. Caitlin Lee went close for the home side but her close range shot just dipped over the bar. Finley Pomfret added to his impressive tally of goals when he scored with a typical finish at the far post. Sammy Devers was lively throughout and from one of his trickery runs he was brought down for a penalty. Recent signing Max Brown was called upon to take the pen to which he scored with a fine strike. Henry Warbrick and Samuel Lindsay were outstanding in defence with a strong display also coming from goalkeeper Ewan Locker. Captain Sam Howell then took control scoring a fine hat-trick inside 20 minutes. This was his third hat-trick of the season. Striker Harry Osbaldaston did everything but score in this match but given that the SFC keeper was in outstanding form he couldn't do anymore. Zak Keelan was back to his best in centre midfield and helped the team out by also playing in a deeper role winning all of his tackles. In what was a very difficult decision to make the manager gave two man of the match awards to Finley Pomfret for his first half wing play and Sam Howell for his hat-trick. Connor Edgar was awarded the most improved player for an impressive display. Well done all the players. David Stroud (Manager)
