Under 14's red

S&A U14's reds travelled to Fleetwood Hesketh at the weekend to play Churchtown Yellows where we lost our first game of the season.
A tightly contested game saw the reds under the cosh in the first half from long throw ins and corners where we defended excellently from Churchtown' s direct play.
S&A created several chances which on another day could have seen the reds score a couple of goals.
HT 0-0
Second half S&A created more chances after some nice phases of play but it was one of those days and 5 mins from time Churchtown scored a fortunate goal in windy conditions.
FT 1-0
A brilliantly contested game with both sides fully committed creating an excellent advert for U14's football.
Overall the desire, commitment and passion was most pleasing. All the coaches and parents were proud of the boys.
Hard to give man of the match in this instance but special mentions go to :-
Seb Mcllveen between the sticks. The highlight, a fine save from distance down to his left.
Harvey Thompson with some towering headers defending deep from long throws. Unbelievable stuff.
The whole back four defending as a unit with quality and composure.

And finally Lewis Handley - Walsh, who had a fine game , a constant threat for 70 mins and on another day could have had 3 or 4 goals.
Proud of the lads and we go again.
