Work rate and desire is key for outstanding Ashton Collins in home win

S&A Under 14's reds hosted Southport Trinity yellows.
With key players missing through injury and illness, and some players playing through the pain barrier we had to dig deep and squad depth was pivotal to continuing the form that the lads are in.
A slow start in terms of creating chances and playing at the tempo we expect.
25 mins deep into the first half, tensions were relieved when the relentless Lewis Handley - Walsh assisted Captain Lucas Charnock to slot home.
Two minutes later Adam Keating got his 20th of the season.
1 minute later S&A were rewarded a direct free kick 20 yards out and Lucas Charnock stepped up but unfortunately the resulting kick was disappointing.
30 seconds later Lucas Charnock picked up a second ball 40 yards from goal.
A thunderous strike rocketed into the trinity goal.
A spectacular goal worthy of goal of the season without doubt.
Few players can strike a ball with that tenacity , a wonderful goal that matches the personality of the player.
Unbelievable strike. Class.
Again two minutes later the classy Lewis Handley - Walsh got into double figures for the season with a tidy finish two minutes before the break.
HT 4-0
Second half we asked the lads to control the game better, improve on set plays and keep a clean sheet.
Lewis Handley - Walsh got the only goal of the second half with a quality performance overall adding to his impressive stats for the season.
Overall a positive performance and collectively a good day at the office.
The plaudits though go to Ashton Collins.
Questions were posed to AJ pre - match in regards to the standards we expect from him and the message he sends out to his team mates in terms of focus, desire and the mentality that we expect week in week out at both training and matchday.
A player held in high regard with a natural talent and a delightful left foot which gives the team quality, balance and presence.
Ashton delivered from the first to last minute.
Firstly his phenomenal work rate and desire from the first to last minute was most pleasing.
Defending with ease and retaining possession was a joy to watch.
Tactically his passes were on point, playing into midfield with pin point accuracy breaking the lines allowing the team to transition from one attacking phase to another.
Not forgetting his relentless 0-70 yard runs down the left side gliding past players using his strength and dribbling qualities delivering dangerous crosses into the opposition box.
A performance that Andy Robertson would be proud off.
Well done Ashton
