Stanley goes that extra mile in home win
U12s bounced back from last weeks 3-0 defeat with a positive 3-0 victory of their own against Southport Athletic Blacks.
The game started competitively with both teams working hard to get control of the game. S&A where trying to get the ball down and play the football they are capable of.
Their first goal came from a set peice wide on the right hand side. Jamie whipped the ball into the box and struck the crossbar only for Joseph to be sharp in the box and followed it in with a brave header which was parried by the goalie straight back to Joseph to head home.
The second goal was very similar this time a free kick from the left hand side from Seb found Jamie unmarked at the back post to finish 2-0 at Half time.
The second half S&A found their confidence and began to control the game with Stanley pulling the strings and working hard in midfield and Aaron working tirelessly upfront. The 3 points where made safe when Aaron stepped up a expertly found the top corner with a free kick from 25 yards.
Good all round team performance especially in the second half.
MOM went to Stanley for an energetic display in the middle.
