Great start to the season for the u12s facing a very good Redgate Yellows team who have got the better of us in the last couple of games. S&A started really well hitting the post and bar twice and having an effort cleared off the line all within the first 15 minutes as well as limiting Redgate to only a couple of counter attack opportunities. With a large squad of 14 to choice from it was always going to be difficult making subs, but it was one of those subs Charlie who got the breakthrough not once but twice with two quick fire goals early in the second half. Another playing coming off the bench to make an impact was Noah who accurately headed home a corner to make it 3 and put S&A in complete control. This gave us chance to make more changes to give everyone an equal opportunity in game time. Joseph then stepped up to make it 4 with a spectacular 30 yard free kick followed by another great strike from range from Owen but S&A continued to play some good football and remained disciplined in their approach. Seb finished off the scoring with another spectacular 30 yard fee kick. It was an encouraging start to the season one which we are all looking forward to. After the game the referee commented that both teams where the best he has ever refereed which was a nice compliment for both teams. MOM could have gone to a number of players today but Charlie received it today for making the breakthrough and setting us on our way to a great performance. Well done lads Mark Barton (Manager)
