Back at the Ainsdale Club for the first time this season S & A Saturday 1st team hosted Ribchester Rovers. On the back of a good result last time out S & A started brightly moving the ball around with pace and purpose . But with all the home teams possession it took till the 26th min before a shot by S & A captain Darren Brookfield was spilled into his own net by the unfortunate Ribchester keeper . S & A dominance continued with efforts from Tom Taylor-Hampson and Christy Devlin going narrowly wide . On 40 mins some smart work on the S & A right by Devlin saw him poke the ball home from a tight angle . Ht ; 2-0 Within 60 seconds of the restart S & A went three up with a nice move again down the right this time Devlin turning provider for Taylor-Hampson to finish . After this the game went into a bit of a lull with the intensity of S & A's focus dropping. To their credit Ribchester started to create half chances but for all their efforts S & A increased their lead on 70 mins when an own goal to made it 4-0 . Ribchester continued to push for a goal and S & A continued to cause there own problems but with ten mins to go Ribchester scored from a corner to the annoyance of S & A stopper Alex Lawrie . This was only to be a conciliation and with 4 mins to go Calvin Jackson made it 5 with a cool finish . A good performance in parts but Captain Brookfield far from happy with second half display .
