Sunday 1st team are into the Derrick Ramsden Cup Semi-finals after a 3-0 win over Championship leaders Sporting Panthers. Having won the competition three years in a row S&A were in no mood to give up their crown and controlled the majority of the game. Sporting who arrived on the back of a terrific season proved worthy opponents.
S&A took the lead when the ever impressive Sam Cope played in Rob Lamont to slot the ball past the Panthers keeper. That lead was doubled when Kev Edgar scored from near on forty yards catching out the keeper. The second half was a lot quieter with the game sealed midway through the second half when Harry Greenall found Paul Grant to score his 26th goal of the season. They will now play Lydiate for the fourth time in a row in the semi final later in April.
