Sunday Senior 1st team

Sunday 1st team hosted Clay Brow Athletic this morning at the club in the Southport Premier Division. Rob Lamont got them off to a perfect start when he broke free of their defenders to poke the ball home. Clay Brow though brought two superb saves from keeper Josh Walker from long range. The game failed to spark into life the majority of the first half with S&A always a threat in attack though. Paul Grant made it two with his 21st goal of the season being assisted by the brilliant Wincer. It was 3-0 just before half time when Liam Hankin let fly from 30 yards finding the bottom corner. Clay Brow though continued to find space with Walker making another good stop. Ht : 3-0
The second half saw a little more intensity from S&A and saw a lovely goal when Kev Edgar found Paul Grant who laid the ball back for Langley to volley home. Rob Langley then got himself another as S&A coasted to the win. Charlie Gray saw a goal ruled out for offside while Kev Edgar added a sixth late on smashing the ball into the roof of the net giving the Clay Brow keeper no chance. Next week will see them take on Royal Altcar at Duke Street Park.Ft : 6-0
