Sunday Senior 1st team

Sunday 1st team hosted newly promoted Southport Albion today running out 8-1 winners. S&A again playing some superb football proved to strong for their opponents.

It was Southport Albion who started off brightly and took an early lead as they came out of the blocks quickly. S&A responded almost immediately when Coughlan played in Cunliffe who brilliantly controlled the pass before firing home. Albion though kept playing positively but we're undone again when Cunliffe again found space after a lovely through ball from Edgar to square for Grant to fire home his 18th of the season. Edgar then made it three this time Grant was on hand with the assist.

The second half saw S&A kill the game off when Grant again found Edgar to fire home and make it 4-1. Dave Brooks then found the top corner with a sublime left foot finish to make it 5-1. The energy of Sam Cope was evident as Tierney headed over while at the other end Albion hit the bar. Sub Jake Pilkington scored soon after coming on with Rob Langley also helping himself to a brace scoring the 7th and 8th of the day. Next week will see them host Coach and Horses at the club.
