Sunday Senior 1st team

Our Sunday 1st team are in impressive form as they put 7 past Halsall in the Derrick Ramsden Cup. A quick change of venue from Halsall home ground to Portland Street saw S&A fast out of the blocks as well. Paul Grant shot narrowly wide after a lovely move..Kev Edgar saw an effort cleared off the line..The Halsall keeper also produced a number of superb saves to deny Tierney ,Lamont and Grant while Craig Taylor flashed an effort past the post. At the other end Halsall struck the bar from a smart turn. S&A eventually took the lead when Solaru saw his flick handled. Lamont dispatched the spot kick. Halsall responded and levelled. They then took the lead when a cross was spilled by Walker. S&A though responded immediately with Grant racing through to score and Lamont then gave them the lead on half time to make it 3-2. The second half was all S&A. Lamont sealed his hat-trick after being assisted by Joe Tierney..Brooks who ran the midfield also went close after a dazzling run. A free-kick saw Edgar hit the post with Cunliffe on hand to fire home. The sixth came through Grant again played in via Sam Cope and there was still time for a seventh when Grant was upended in the box after another great move with Edgar firing home from the spot.
