Sunday Senior 1st team

Sunday Senior 1st team lost to Lancashire Sunday champions Bamber Bridge Utd this morning in the Lancashire cup. A healthy squad made the tough trip to take on a very good side. On a day which felt like nothing went their way S & A eventually lost 3-1 after taking the lead. Bamber Bridge time and time again put in great deliveries into the area from either corners or crosses with both wide players showing their quality. It was however S & A who drew first blood when the superb Wincer fired home. The same player was causing them problems and could have doubled the lead while Tierney also went close. A major blow was dealt with Spencer limping off with an injury and Bamber Bridge soon levelled from a corner. The game then was end to end with Bamber Bridge taking the lead just on half time when their forward was brought down.
HT : 2-1
The second half saw S & A start the better side but on a very heavy pitch the home side started to boss the game and made it 3-1. S & A continued to press for a way back into the game and had a great opportunity but Kristian Solaru's goal bound effort was blocked.
Not to be for S & A a tough draw against one of the best sides in the comp away from home proved to much.
