Sunday Senior 1st team

Sunday 1st team maintained their 100% start to the season with victory over Elevate. Against opponents who never gave in S&A had to dig deep at times.
It was S & A who made an electrifying start opening the scoring within a minute when Boden played in Paul Grant to score. The lead was doubled on 18 minutes when Grant pounced to score his second. S & A were then denied two goals ruled out both for offside. Elevate though we're full of running and keen to go forward themselves at every opportunity.

The second half started with Boden beating the offside trap to fire home. Elevate then got themselves back in it with a well taken goal. The game though appeared to be wrapped up when Boden after a superb challenge from MOTM Hankin found Grant who scored his hat-trick 4-1.

S&A then in control looked to see the game out. With only 3 minutes remaining Elevate got a second goal after a scramble in the box.

More drama was to follow when an Elevate corner causing chaos in the S & A box led to a third goal in the last minute.

S & A eventually held on for a 4-3 win when they would have only themselves to blame had they thrown away 2 points. Next week will see them take on Lancashire Sunday champions Bamber Bridge Utd in the Lancashire Cup.
