Sunday Senior 1st team

Our Sunday 1st team made the trip to Blackburn in the Lancashire Sunday trophy this morning.
Played on a pitch which would be classed as too small for a kids game S&A still dominated the game. A host of missed chances in the first half eventually saw them take the lead when skipper Spencer headed home.
Ht : 0-1
The second half was a similar affair and it soon became 2-0 when Paul Grant played in Kev Edgar to fire home. Wincer then hit the bar as S&A looked for a third. However it was Mellor Old Boys who got themselves back in the game with a well taken goal. The first goal S&A have conceded this season. This only spurred them on and if not for some great goalkeeping from the Mellor keeper it could have been more. The third did come when Wincer was brought down and Lamont dispatched the penalty. More chances came and went as S&A were awarded another spot kick when Wincer was brought down again this time Paul Grant saw his spot kick saved.
