Sunday Senior 1st team

Sunday 1st team made the trip to Bury in the Lancashire Sunday trophy 1st round to take on AFC Holcombe. With a number of players unavailable a 13 man squad which included David Gates making his first appearance in just under a year whilst Sean Doran also made his debut from the bench.

S & A dominated the first half. Lamont saw a shot hit the bar while Tierney headed over when he should have scored. Paul Grant flashed a shot wide as S & A looked for an opener. It came in the 32nd minute when Grant fed the ball to Charlie Gray who beat one man before finding the back of the net. Josh Walker then made a fine save from a cross/shot. Paul Grant though then made it 2-0 on half time.

The second half was all S&A again. Grant made it 3-0 only minutes after the restart and made it 4 minutes later. Rob Lamont made it 5-0 after a lovely move with Ryan Taylor with the assist. Sub Sean Doran then capped his debut with two well taken goals. To make it 7-0. Jake Pilkington after missing three great chances got on the score sheet with Joe Tierney capping it all off and the 9th with only minutes remaining.
